人称、数的不一致

不理解导致误译
原文：The world arms bazzar is a Rubik's Cube of complex and shifting relationships and one of the world's largest business.
初译：世界军火市场虽然像鲁比克的骰子一样错综复杂、变幻不定，而且是世界上最大的买卖之一。
修订：RC，匈牙利人RC发明了魔方，这里用来形容市场复杂多变，所以你应该展开说：世界军火市场像模仿一样错综复杂，变幻不定，而且是世界上最大的买卖之一。
机械翻译
新手常见问题，就是喜欢字对字，比如外宾服务部（也就是通常的涉外景点的纪念品商店），你不能说Foreign Guests Department，因为会和外宾接待室混淆，你应该说Souvenior Shop。
还有，我朝一个领导要见某个外国政要，说：老朋友来了，不见不行。不能说It won't do if I refuse to meet my old friend. 因为容易让人觉得讲话者本想拒见，行不通，才不得不见。而这里实际要表达的是我不可能不见，我一定要见。你大概要说When an old friend comes, I won't miss the opportunity of meeting him.
再如：发展中国家人口众多，地域辽阔，资源丰富，市场广阔，有巨大的发展潜力。
